Each year Pride commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, led by trans women of color. Stonewall marked a turning point in how the LGBTQ+ community understood and represented itself—no longer willing to hide, submit, or bend under the blows of state violence.
Equitas Health recognizes that the strides made since Stonewall are not equally experienced by the Black community and other communities of color. For Pride 2020, we rededicate ourselves to standing with those who have fought longer and received less. This commitment extends not only to our patients and clients of color, but to our staff of color as well.

In order to provide whole-person healthcare, Equitas Health must be radically inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community and passionately dedicated to eliminating racial health disparities. We cannot fulfill our mission without fighting for racial justice.
This journey will require constant evaluation, mindful adjustment, and an eager acceptance of critical feedback. We are grateful to our patients and clients for their partnership in transforming care, to our staff for their commitment to recognizing and breaking down barriers to care, and to the generations of LGBTQ+ activists of color who have demanded that we acknowledge and address the racism within the LGBTQ+ community.
Without reflection and action there can be no justice. Without justice there can be no pride.
Our doors and our ears are open.
Sincerely,

Johnson & Johnson, one of the world’s largest drugmakers, announced last Friday that it will discontinue upfront 340B pricing on two medications for disproportionate share hospital (DSH) covered entities. The move is part of a sustained campaign by large drug manufacturers to undermine the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program for participating hospitals and covered entities such as Equitas Health.
