Public Statement 10/16/21
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I’m writing to announce that we have accepted William Hardy’s resignation from the role of President and CEO, effective immediately.
Equitas Health plays a vital role in the community. We are at a juncture that requires both the Board and senior leadership to take a deep and introspective look at where we are – and who we are – to ensure we have the right leaders in place to continue to fulfill our important mission. We are working closely with the leadership team to begin the healing process and create a stronger, more inclusive culture that reflects our shared values and priorities.
In the short term, we are working to identify an interim CEO and will provide updates as they become available. We will also conduct a robust search for a permanent CEO, who will be a steward of our mission over the long term, and are continuing our search for a Chief People & Culture Officer as a top priority
As we progress along these paths, you can expect to hear from me as well as the senior leadership team.
Respectfully,
Sam Rinehart, Chairman of the Board, Equitas Health

This week, the Columbus Dispatch published an article reflecting experiences of former and current staff of Equitas Health. Those of us who work here know that our growth and evolution has been challenging. We cannot – and will not – ignore the historical and current impact that our Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) stakeholders are feeling.

In late January 2023, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) proposed changes to their guidance on who can give blood. Historically, their rules have discriminated against members of the LGBTQ+ community. As promised, Equitas Health gave feedback to the FDA in a public comment.
