Equitas Health’s Dept. of External Affairs regularly offers internship opportunities, featuring a hybrid work schedule and based out of the agency’s Columbus, Ohio office. Interns should expect a work-load equivalent to a 3-hour undergraduate level course throughout the duration of their internship. Opportunities are generally available in the spring, summer, and fall. Summer positions are the most popular and most competitive. Positions may vary by season, but all internships in the department focus upon the intersections of LGBTQ+ rights, healthcare policy, and governmental relations broadly defined.
Applying for an internship is similar to applying for a college program. The process requires time and effort, including an interview and a demonstration of writing skills. Below, you can learn more about internship opportunities that are regularly offered through the department. The agency’s career page is the best place to learn about new opportunities.
