David Ernesto Munar

David Ernesto Munar (he/him) serves as president and chief executive officer. He is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight of the organization. He works to ensure the delivery of quality, affordable, and affirming healthcare to the LGBTQ+ community, people living with HIV/AIDS, and anyone looking for a welcoming healthcare home. He works closely with Equitas Health’s Board of Trustees, staff, and community partners to advocate for equitable access to healthcare for the communities Equitas Health serves.

As the organization’s federally qualified health center look-a-like (FQHC-LAL) project director, David also provides general oversight for Equitas Health’s compliance as a Health Resources and Service Administration-designated FQHC-LAL.

David has devoted his entire professional career to building comprehensive systems of care and prevention that meets the needs of people left out or kept out of traditional healthcare systems. He brings over 30 years of experience in healthcare and advocacy, serving the last ten years as CEO of Howard Brown Health.  He is a graduate of Northwestern University.
