Chief Operating Officer
Thao is responsible for implementing new strategic initiatives to advance Equitas Health’s integrated model of care. She works closely with Equitas Health’s strategic and community partners, as well as the Board of Trustees, to keep them informed of programmatic strategies and challenges.
Thao has more than 26 years of experience in healthcare and nonprofit practices. Thao served as interim chief operating officer at Equitas Health before moving into the role permanently. Prior to joining Equitas Health, Thao was a member of Facktor Healthcare Consulting’s Health Center Operations group. In her 12 years at Faktor, she served as director of Clinical Operations, practice manager and practice administrator. Before Facktor, she served as the director of Clinic Support Services at Bay Area Community Health, where she oversaw the management of day-to-day clinic operations.
Thao earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from California State University, Hayward. She is also a practice management system/electronic health record super user for Epic and eClinicalWorks.
