Shades of Red is Equitas Health’s one-of-a-kind World AIDS Day Celebration. Enjoy a night of fashion, art, and music and raise money for Equitas Health’s HIV/AIDS prevention services and Brothers in Unity (BIU). BIU provides affirming social spaces, HIV testing, and access to PrEP for same-gender-loving men of color in Columbus, Ohio.
The event features a fashion show with designs from 20 local BIPOC designers worn by 20 local BIPOC models. All of their unique creations are in shades of red. Help Equitas Health and Brothers in Unity end HIV in BIPOC communities. And do it in style!

The Allen is proud to partner with Visual AIDS for Day With(out) Art 2024 by presenting Red Reminds Me…, a program of seven videos reflecting the emotional spectrum of living with HIV today. This program will take place at the Apollo Theater in Oberlin and is free and open to the general public. It is being held in conjunction with the Allen’s exhibition, The Body, the Host: HIV/AIDS and Christianity. It builds on Oberlin College and the Allen’s long history of HIV/AIDS activism and observations of World AIDS Day. Learn more.

World AIDS Day Filmmaker Event

In celebration of World AIDS Day 2024, the UToledo Department of Theatre and Film, in partnership with the UToledo Health Care Clinic and The Ann Wayson Locher Memorial Fund for HIV Care will screen the 2016 documentary film Wilhemina’s War, directed by award-winning filmmaker June Cross. Equitas Health, Ohio’s largest LGBTQ+ and HIV-serving healthcare organization, has announced new officers on the Board of Trustees. Susan McManus (she/her), vice president of business solutions marketing at Nationwide, will serve as Board chair for a one-year term through July 2025.

Equitas Health is pleased to announce that a collective bargaining agreement has been reached with Equitas Health Workers United Local #6609. Members of the bargaining unit voted this week, and the result was resounding support for ratification of the agreement.
