Equitas Health Announces New Board Officers

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Equitas Health, Ohio’s largest LGBTQ+ and HIV-serving healthcare organization, has announced new officers on the Board of Trustees.

Susan McManus (she/her), vice president of business solutions marketing at Nationwide, will serve as Board chair for a one-year term through July 2025.

“It is with great pride and a deep sense of responsibility that I step into this role,” McManus, who resides in Columbus, said. “As a long-time trustee and patient of Equitas Health, I am profoundly committed to our mission of providing affordable and affirming healthcare to the LGBTQ+ community, people living with HIV, and anyone in need of a welcoming healthcare home.”

Serving alongside McManus as Board officers this term are

  • Philip Stowers (he/him), vice chair, Cincinnati
  • Omar ElhagMusa (he/him), secretary, Columbus
  • G. Kent Holloway (he/him), treasurer, London

David Ernesto Munar, president and CEO at Equitas Health, praised McManus and the Board officers for volunteering their time and expertise to the organization.

“Equitas Health is fortunate to have a Board that recognizes the vital role we play in our communities and is committed to securing improved health outcomes for everyone we serve,” Munar said. “We are grateful for the considerable experience that they offer our organization as we work to expand access to equitable and affirming care across Ohio.”

The Board of Trustees is tasked with being the organization’s governing body, providing direction and oversight as Equitas Health serves its mission. Consistent with its designation as a Federal Qualified Health Center Look-Alike, the majority of Equitas Health’s Board of Trustees are patients, relying on their experience receiving care to inform the organization’s corporate governance and direction. Trustees, who represent a range of backgrounds and geographic locations across the state, adopt policies and develop strategies to ensure long-term success and sustainability for the organization.
