Individual Therapy

Otherwise known as talk therapists, Equitas Health’s psychotherapists are professional social workers equipped to serve a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, alcohol and drug dependency, and bipolar disorder.

We also offer services to the LGBTQA community on handling complications that arise from living with HIV, coming out to your family about your sexual orientation or gender identity, and much more.

Because we believe your mental health is tied directly to your overall health, we take a long-term, comprehensive look at your mental well-being, and work together with you to develop a plan that fits your life.

Your therapist might work with you, for instance, on developing coping skills for better handling everyday stress, or showing you how to better manage depression so you’re able to get out of bed and take a shower every day. You might get involved in an HIV/AIDS support group, for instance, or another that uses yoga for anxiety and stress management.

We also offer a variety of therapy options to better fit your needs — everything from individual sessions to couples and group sessions are available.

We commonly treat patients for the following:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression and other mental health symptoms
  • Family and relationship dynamics
  • Sexual abuse and domestic violence
  • Addictions and self-destructive behaviors
  • Adjustment issues related to an HIV-positive diagnosis
  • Social and emotional challenges related to changes in physical health and abilities
  • Stress management and coping skills during life transitions
  • Grief and loss
  • Job performance and career changes
  • Sexual orientation and gender identity across your lifespan.

Because we believe in transparency, should you have any questions about the licensure of counselors, social workers and marriage and family therapists, you can find information on this page.
