Equitas Health is excited to welcome Melvin Bruce as our new Associate Director of Prevention! Melvin joins the Prevention Department from New York City where he was the Director of Community Health and Prevention at the Gay Men’s Health Crisis, working his way up to the position from an Outreach Coordinator.
Before GMHC, he led HIV prevention programs in Albany, NY and Chicago, as Case Manager at Howard Brown Health Center. As the new Associate Director of Prevention, Melvin will manage Equitas Health’s new Early Intervention Services Program, which includes the implementation of the Prevention Assistance Program Interventions (PAPI). This program increases access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)—a once a day pill that prevents HIV infection.
