About Bruce Richman and U=U
After a scare, where Bruce Richman feared he had accidentally put a partner at risk of contracting HIV, he learned from his doctor that because he was undetectable, he could not pass on the virus. Richman launched the U=U campaign in July of 2016 to make sure providers, policy makers, the general public, and most importantly, people living with HIV know that people with an undetectable viral load cannot sexually transmit the virus. Now more than 500 organizations from 65 countries have signed the U=U consensus statement.
