What’s on your ballot? Our courts!
There are many reasons we’re voting for our lives on November 9; one of them is our courts. This year, we will elect judges to the bench from the Ohio Supreme Court to various county courts around the state. These judges are incredibly important because they decide cases and set legal precedent that touch every area of the law and directly impact issues ranging from civil rights and marriage equality to access to healthcare.

Supreme Court Call to Action
The future of the US Supreme Court is on the ballot, too. Though we won’t be electing the next Supreme Court Justice, we will be electing a US Senator who may vote on the next confirmation. Many of you likely joined me last week in watching the emotionally raw and deeply moving testimony of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford before the Senate Judiciary Committee as she painstakingly detailed her sexual assault in the 1980s, alleged to have been committed by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Despite Dr. Ford’s testimony, the Senate is still trying to rush the confirmation vote process—delaying it by just a week to give the FBI a short time to investigate her and others’ claims against Judge Kavanaugh.
Call your Senators now to demand that they delay the full Senate vote until the FBI has performed a thorough investigation, and that they vote NOT to confirm Kavanaugh when the full Senate meets.
Join millions of Americans who are voicing their outrage at this rushed process to fill the Supreme Court vacancy. Why? Because the fate of well-settled laws related to civil rights, women’s reproductive rights, discrimination in housing and employment, voting rights, criminal justice and other important topics are in danger.
